Photo prompt by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields
There was nothing to do in this room, except to wait and worry.
I’d been trapped for days. No food. No water. No hope.
Bucket in the corner. Thin mattress on the floor. My source of warmth, a greying blanket, and the clothes I was wearing.
It was still autumn, and I knew I could hang in there for a while, as long as I wasn’t cold.
I’d been dozing, when suddenly there was somebody at the window. Legs on a ladder.
Without thinking, I screamed and thumped on the window. Without knowing, was this friend or foe.
Friday fictioneers is a weekly challenge set by Rochelle Wisoff Fields to write a 100-word story in response to a photo prompt. You can find other stories here.
I would have taken the chance. Better than sitting there helplessly. Great story 🙂

She has to try! Your story reminded me of the movie “Room.” Nicely done!

It’s a fair bet. The baddies have a key and don’t need to come in by ladder
