Red, white, and blue
Reveals to the world
Righteous self-belief
Follow: We will lead!
We crowd in behind you
Watch atrocities unfold
Weep loudly, in hindsight
Wish: We’d refused!
But times are a’changing
Beware our disdain
Because, our consciences
Call: To refrain
Respect, being eroded
Regrets, we have many
Resigned, to self-awareness
Own: Our decisions
Willing, to change
Worthwhile, the effort
Wisdom, evolving
Change: Let us lead
Bringing you with us
Bravely, we try
Big-hearted nations
Work: Side by side
Land of the brave
Land of the free
Land of the Trump

Expertly done Trish. Who knows where this, or Trump, will end, but it is plain to see America’s place as the leader of the free world is weakened, if not finished.

Cleverly done, Trish. I liked the way you blended in echoes of songs

Cleverly done, Trish.
While I agree too many have followed blindly, I don’t think we are blameless in other matters either.

Of course not. There’s a much bigger story of give and take and fault. But I took one small angle for 100 words🙂
Thanks for reading.
